Hurricanes forward Logan Stankoven discusses all the emotions surrounding his deadline deal for Mikko Rantanen, as he, his teammates and GM Eric Tulsky elaborate on why it feels like Stankoven was built to be a Carolina Hurricane.
Charlie Woods can add another win to his resume.
The 16-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods claimed his first American Junior Golf Association title on Wednesday at the Team Taylormade Invitational in Bowling Green, Fla.
Playing in a field that included seven of the top 10-ranked AJGA players, the 606th-ranked Woods won by three strokes with a total score of 15-under.
Woods soared into the lead with a second-round 65 and closed the deal by shooting 6-under 66 in his third and final round.
The teenager’s first round at Streamsong Resort’s Black Course also drew eyeballs as Woods managed just three pars (all on par-threes) and recorded every score from eagle to triple bogey en route to a 2-under 70.
It’s the third AJGA event Woods has played this season. He tied for 52nd at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship in February and tied for 25th at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley the following month.
He fell short in U.S. Open pre-qualifying earlier in May when he shot a 3-over 75 at Wellington Golf Club in Florida.
Though he was yet to win an AJGA event, Woods already counts several wins on his ledger, with his first coming in the 14-15-year-old category at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship in June 2023. Later that year, he won the Last Chance Regional golf tournament.
